Martin Luther King, Jr. was a minister in the church and a social activist, who led the Civil Rights Movement in the United States from the mid-1950s until his death in 1968 (by assassination). Martin was born on January 15, 1929 into the family of Michael King Sr. and Alberta Williams King.
